Brand as a commercial instrument
Brand work goes wrong when it stops at a logo and a color palette. Those are outputs. The strategy underneath them is a set of commercial decisions: who the company is for, what it refuses to be, which claim it can defend, and what a buyer should believe by the time a salesperson speaks.
Get that right and everything downstream gets cheaper. Paid media converts at a higher rate because the promise is clearer. Sales cycles shorten because objections were answered before the call. Content has something to say. Get it wrong and every channel pays a tax forever.
